About the artist and artwork...
Charmaine McKissock trained in Contemporary Art and Craft in the Orkney Isles, at the same as working as a national consultant in Literacy and Language difficulties. She has a national track record of working with learners with Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties, as well as with their helpers.

Charmaine's grandmother and mother trained as professional artists. Their bumpy lives and roles as carers/breadwinners both created conflict and enriched their work: the same  might be said for Charmaine.  She is probably best known for her intricate and quirky ink illustrations, but she also works in multimedia.

Charmaine is particularity interested in creative projects to help individuals, raise funds for charities and develop community. See Community section.

Charmaine attends the Here There and Everywhere School of Art, wherever she can fit in courses that interest or stretch her. In 2017, she graduated with Distinction in Children's Book Illustration.
